Sacristans are parishioners who work on a rota to prepare for the celebration of Holy Mass.
They prepare the chalices, and the water and wine, and prepare the altar bread for the Eucharist and also light the candles on the altar.
They check on the stocks of candles etc. to ensure we don’t run short of anything and they prepare the altar linens.
