When you’re not hearing the Word of God at Holy Mass

We can still nourish ourselves with the Word of God, by reading for ourselves the readings we would have heard in church. The newsletter each week will have the references for the Sunday readings, so we can look them up in our own bible. If you use the internet, you can read

Nobody should think they are sinning by not keeping their Sunday obligation. Cardinal Nichols, speaking for all the bishops, wrote that, “in these emergency circumstances, and for as long as they last, the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days is removed.”

It would be a good and holy thing to give to God the time we would have spent at Holy Mass, and keep our normal Mass time as a period of prayer, studying the readings, making a spiritual communion, and perhaps praying the rosary, or the divine office, or some other form of devotion that we find helpful.
